Barak Naggan,
a professional adventure travel
video and stills photographer, has lived nearly all of his life in Israel.
On his first visit to the American southwest several years ago, he became
deeply inspired by the area's natural beauty, and in 2001 he headed west and
made his home in New Mexico.
Barak's love for landscape photography began in his late teens as he discovered
Israel's wildly diverse scenery from the window of his Israeli Air Force helicopter.
This love naturally combined with his desire to travel upon completing his
tour of duty, and Barak has spent much of the past ten years wandering the
world - from rafting in Ethiopia and hiking in Nepal, to kayaking in New Zealand
and cross-country skiing to the North Pole - he has been exploring and photographing
in over 40 countries on all but the Antarctic continent. He has documented
many adventure trips for Israeli national television, has shot and edited documentaries for the European National Geographic Chanel and was the primary videographer for an Israeli aerial photography company.
Since settling down in New Mexico Barak has been busy shooting and editing video documentaries, teaching multimedia classes at UNM Continuing Education and crewing short and feature length films as a cinematographer. Barak owns and operates a multimedia production company - High Desert Media.
